Bamboo Sushi: Discover Authentic Asian Fusion Cuisine in Portland

I travel a good bit for work and I love trying restaurants that locals recommend when I visit an area for the first time. The front desk woman recommended this place and it did not disappoint. I even went back my second night. I typically test a new spot by ordering something simple and basic. The reason I do this is simple if a restaurant puts care into something basic I am positive the hard stuff will be exquisite. Their miso soup is stupid good meaning everything else should be great and in this case it was The mgr rob was funny and helpful my server tonight Lucas was spot on with suggestions and the choice of paired local wines was spot. I would also give major props to my server from last night but I can’t recall her name.

Everything we ordered was flavorful, and the sushi was unique. The only critique was that the service can be very slow. We waited for about 15 minutes for a server and eventually had to call someone over

Everything at Bamboo Sushi was so good, I just wish I’d come more hungry! The crispy rice with salmon was amazing, and almost the entire menu was gluten-free (except the burger). Great service and such a nice dining experience overall.

Came here with a couple of friends for lunch. It wasn't busy at that time. We were greeted promptly to be seated. Interior is definitely nicely furnished, lighting is a bit dark. Menu selection is limited compared to your regular sushi restaurant. They mainly offer their own house made signature rolls in terms of sushi. Food taste-wise was on point. Can taste the freshness of it. Our server was very friendly, patient, and accommodating, which adds to the higher-class experience. It's definitely a place you would go to if you are looking for a more unique and high-quality Japanese food. 8/10 would come back again to try other food items on the menu.

This is my new favorite sushi joint! I had the Yellowtail nigiri and the Unicorn Roll. The Unicorn blew my mind! It has a nice, spicy kick along with so many fresh flavors. My wife had the king salmon nigiri and a custom-made veggie roll. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Our drinks were delicious as well. I would give you 6 stars if I could.

Sushi rolls tasted good. Fish quality was acceptable. I cannot recommend the oyster here. Service was ok. We did patio seating, but I recommend indoor for two reason. Probably will received better service. A bit slow on the patio and also random foul smell when the breeze shifts. Parking can be challenging as it is downtown so just street parking.

Had such a great experience here with our server Mikalo. Honestly the best service we had during our visit to Portland. We ordered hot sake and the Tomodachi board. Everything tasted super fresh!

Bamboo is an often frequented establishment for me and my wife. The food met our high expectations and the service was very attentive without being obnoxious. We ordered the wagyu sliders, edamame for appetizers, my wife had a custom hand roll on soy paper and I had the specialty Roll “The Unicorn”.
